Newark, N.J. — The Vegas Golden Knights ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night, thanks to goals from Nicolas Roy, Shea Theodore, and Jack Eichel, as well as a solid 16-save performance from goaltender Adin Hill.

This marked only the second road win for Vegas since January 7.

Roy broke the deadlock early in the second period, scoring his seventh goal of the season at 3:09 to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. Theodore added a second goal at 11:18, also his seventh of the year. Eichel sealed the win in the third period, netting his 19th goal at 4:06 to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Devils managed to spoil Hill’s shutout bid when Ondrej Palat scored on a power play at 15:43, his 12th of the season. Jesper Bratt and Stefan Noesen assisted on the goal.

The Devils entered the game following a shootout victory over Pittsburgh on Tuesday and are now 2-3-0 in their last five games.

Vegas, who had been struggling with a 1-3-2 record in their last six games, managed to turn the tide with this win. Their recent road losses included setbacks to the Rangers and Islanders.

New Jersey was without their captain, Nico Hischier, who missed his fifth consecutive game after being cross-checked by Montreal’s Nick Suzuki on January 25. Devils defenseman Simon Nemec made his first NHL appearance since October 22 after being called up from the AHL’s Utica Comets.

Devils goaltender Allen made 36 saves but took the loss, bringing his record to 8-11-1 this season.

Key Takeaways:

  • Devils: New Jersey’s record dropped to 15-9-4 at home, though they remain 8-3-1 at the Prudential Center since December 12.

Key Moment:
