DRU HILL, originally formed as the gospel group 14K Harmony in Baltimore, Maryland, quickly made their mark on the R&B world in the mid-1990s. On May 9, 2025, the group released their latest single “Chain.” Founded by Tamir “Nokio” Ruffin, Mark “Sisqó” Andrews, James “Woody” Green, and Larry “Jazz” Anthony, DRU HILL gained widespread attention with their debut single “Tell Me” which showcased their sultry vocals and pristine harmonies.
Celebrating more than 25 years of creating timeless hits, DRU HILL was honored with the Urban Music Icon Award at the 2022 Black Music Honors. Today, the R&B group is led by founding members Sisqó, Nokio, Jazz, and former member Scola, as well as the latest additions Smoke and Black from the R&B group Playa.
DRU HILL released its self-titled debut album Dru Hill in 1996, making waves with #1 R&B hits “In My Bed,” “Never Make A Promise,” and top 10 hit “Whatever You Need.” With the album’s success, the group was honored with winning the 1997 Billboard Music Awards for Top R&B Song and Artist, and the 1998 Soul Train Awards for Best R&B/Soul Single and Album. DRU HILL’s second album, Enter the Dru, was released in 1998.
This multi-platinum project, featuring the #1 hit “How Deep Is Your Love,” further solidified their status in the 90s R&B scene. In 2002, DRU HILL reunited with the addition of a fifth member, Rufus “Scola” Waller, and released their third album, Dru World Order, which includes classics “I Should Be…” and “I Love You.” Throughout DRU HILL’s career, the group has collaborated with legendary stars including Mariah Carey, Ludacris, Mýa, and Will Smith.
