Orangeburg, S.C. — Georgia continued its dominant defensive start to the season on Thursday night, powering past South Carolina State, 85–49, and setting a new program milestone in the process.
A Historic Defensive Run
For the first time in school history, the Lady Bulldogs have held each of their first four opponents under 50 points. After limiting Alabama State to 44, Furman to 45, USC Upstate to 44, Georgia completed the streak by keeping South Carolina State to 49.
Carnegie Leads the Charge
Sophomore forward Dani Carnegie delivered a standout performance, scoring 22 points — her seventh career 20-point outing. She added a career-high four steals, six rebounds, and three assists to round out an impressive all-around effort.
Turner Nearly Triple-Doubles
Sophomore guard Trinity Turner flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists as she controlled the tempo on both ends of the floor.

Strong Showing From the Freshman
Freshman forward Zhen Craft provided a spark off the bench, posting a season-high 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Shutting Down a High-Powered Offense
South Carolina State entered the matchup averaging 105 points per game, but Georgia’s defense smothered the Bulldogs, holding them to 30% shooting and forcing 20 turnovers — both season lows for SC State.
The win moves Georgia to 4–0, its best start since Coach ABE’s first season in Athens in 2022–23.
