Athens, Ga. — Georgia shook off a cold night from beyond the arc and cruised past Florida A&M, 87–57, on Monday, improving to 5–0 on the season. The Bulldogs went just 2-for-26 from three-point range, but their dominance inside and on the boards more than made up for it.

Jake Wilkins led Georgia with 14 points, while Blue Cain turned in a strong all-around performance, posting 12 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

The victory extended Georgia’s impressive non-conference home winning streak at Stegeman Coliseum to 32 games. Head coach Mike White remains undefeated at home against non-league opponents (32–0) and is now 46–13 overall at Stegeman through four seasons.

Georgia wasted little time seizing control. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 16–6 lead within the first seven minutes and never looked back. Florida A&M opened the game hitting just two of its first nine shots and later endured a scoring drought of more than four minutes, allowing Georgia to push the margin to 32–12. Despite not having a double-figure scorer in the first half, Georgia held a commanding 44–22 advantage at the break.

Florida A&M struggled to protect the ball and establish any rhythm offensively, committing 11 turnovers in the opening 15 minutes and shooting just 28% before halftime.

Georgia continued to pour it on in the second half, sparked by Somtochukwu Cyril, who threw down three straight dunks to open the period and finished with 12 points. Jeremiah Wilkinson contributed 11 points, and Dylan James added 10 in the balanced scoring effort.

Florida A&M fell to 0–4 in the opening stretch of Charlie Ward’s first season at the helm.
