Atlanta, GA— Georgia Tech pulled away late to secure a 65–53 Atlantic Coast Conference win over Boston College on Saturday, fueled by a strong all-around performance from Lamar Washington.

Washington finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, recording his third double-double of the season as the Yellow Jackets closed the game on a decisive run. After Boston College briefly surged ahead midway through the second half, Georgia Tech responded by taking control down the stretch.

Donald Hand Jr. knocked down a 3-pointer just under 11 minutes remaining to put the Eagles up 41–40, their first lead since early in the game. Boston College extended the margin to 46–42 with about nine minutes to play, but that momentum didn’t last. Georgia Tech answered with a dominant 20–3 run, opening up a 62–49 advantage with 1:30 left and effectively sealing the outcome.

Washington played a key role in the surge, scoring eight of his points in the final eight minutes. He shot 5 of 10 from the field, connected on two shots from beyond the arc, and went 5 of 6 at the free-throw line. He also contributed five assists while logging 36 minutes.
