Anaheim, CA — Tyler Anderson delivered a dominant performance on the mound Friday night, allowing just three hits and striking out six over six shutout innings, as the Los Angeles Angels snapped a four-game skid with a 2-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

Zach Neto made an immediate impact in his season debut, driving in a run with a double in his first at-bat. Neto had been sidelined for the first three weeks while recovering from shoulder surgery but wasted no time making his presence felt.

The Angels’ bullpen held firm behind Anderson (2-0), as Brock Burke, Ryan Zeferjahn, and Kenley Jansen each tossed a scoreless inning to preserve the shutout. Jansen picked up his second save of the season and the 452nd of his career.

Despite taking the loss, Giants starter Logan Webb (2-1) was electric, striking out 12 batters and surrendering just four hits with no walks across six innings. His only hiccup came in the second inning, where the Angels did all their scoring.

After back-to-back strikeouts to start the frame, Webb gave up a double to Nolan Schanuel. Neto then lashed a 106-mph line drive past shortstop Willy Adames to drive in Schanuel for a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Kyren Paris hit a ground ball that deflected off third baseman Matt Chapman’s glove for an error, allowing Neto to score and doubling the Angels’ advantage.

Jo Adell, batting ninth, sparked the Angels with three hits, including a double.

Defining Moment:

In the seventh inning, with two outs and a runner on first, Paris made a highlight-reel play by lunging to snag LaMonte Wade Jr.’s sharp grounder. The second baseman recovered quickly and fired to first to end the inning, preventing the Giants from bringing the top of their lineup to the plate with runners aboard.

Notable Stat:

Anderson continued his dominance over right-handed hitters, who are now hitting just .077 (4-for-52) against him this season — the lowest average in the majors among pitchers with at least 50 plate appearances faced. On Friday, he held Heliot Ramos, Adames, Chapman, Wilmer Flores, and Tyler Fitzgerald to a combined 1-for-12.

Looking Ahead:

The series continues Saturday with Angels right-hander Kyle Hendricks (0-1, 4.20 ERA) set to face Giants righty Landen Roupp (1-1, 4.80 ERA).
