New York, NY— Mercedes, a German Shepherd from Bethesda, MD, took top honors in the Herding Group at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, presented by Purina Pro Plan. Handled by Kent Boyles and co-owned by Cynthian Wilhelmy and Sheree Moses, Mercedes impressed Judge Janina K. Laurin of Ashford, CT, on Monday, February 10, at Madison Square Garden, “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”
The 5-year-old female, officially known as GCHP CH Kaleef’s Mercedes, was one of 34 dogs competing in the Herding Group. The Westminster Dog Show features over 2,500 conformation entries, with two days of Best of Breed judging taking place from February 10 to February 11 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The event culminates with the Group and Best in Show competitions at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.
