Cher brought her Here We Go Tour last night at the Prudential Center in front of a packed house for a near-two-hour show full of colorful outfits, choreographed arrangements, and outrageous sets.

Last night, Cher was just phenomenal.

During one of the video montages that ran during Cher’s Here, We Go Again tour stop at the Rock, a pre-recorded voice-over from the 73-year-old icon played over clips from some of her movies. “I’ve never really been accepted by singers as a singer, and actors don’t think of me as an actor,” Cher said. “I actually succeeded at everything I ever tried, and yet I’m not part of any of the groups.”

Cher took the stage with a group of dancers dressed like golden Roman warriors contorting across the stage like she were in her 20’s, in a similarly pagan outfit topped by a huge orange wig and protruding horns.”Woman’s World” and especially the disco beat “Strong Enough” set the tone for the rest of the night. After a short, musical interlude of the Hindu “Gayatri Mantra,” Cher plummeted from a large electric elephant for “All Or Nothing,” a selection from her techno-laced album “Believe.”

She went back in time with a video of her years with Sonny Bono and their musical, comedic show, as Sonny and Cher. She traded vocals with her late husband during an emotional montage of “The Beat Goes On” and “I Got You, Babe.”

After a half-dozen costume changes, Cher looked energized, and her voice never wavered one bit.

After it, all—and one more dance, instrumental — Cher capped the night with her hit song “Believe.”

Opening up the for the legend was the late-’70s disco/group Chic. The group had the Prudential Center, all the way up to the rafters, dancing in the aisle and rocking in their seats. Front-man and master technician Nile Rodgers hit the audience with hits such as “Le Freak” and “Good Times,” but his genius as a producer with Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance.

Cher performance last night resonated and bridged the gap with all genres. With over 50 years in the business, there doesn’t seem to be any slow down for this trendsetter.

This was more than a concert Cher made it a production that you couldn’t wait to see the next act. The Here We Go Tour is definitely a concert you want to spend your money and see.
