Ames, Iowa — Audi Crooks delivered another dominant performance with 29 points and 14 rebounds for her 19th career double-double, powering No. 14 Iowa State to an 85-58 victory over Southern on Wednesday night.
Crooks was nearly unstoppable inside, shooting 12-for-16 from the floor and extending her streak of consecutive double-digit scoring games to 69, the longest active run in Division I. That’s also the longest Big 12 streak since Baylor’s Brittney Griner recorded 116 straight games with 10 or more points between 2010 and 2013.
The junior center set the tone early, scoring 16 points and pulling down eight rebounds in the first half as the Cyclones built a 41-21 halftime lead. Iowa State’s defense smothered Southern, holding the Jaguars to just 17.9% shooting (5-of-28) before the break while forcing seven turnovers.

Freshman Jada Williams added 17 points and five assists, and Addy Brown contributed 13 rebounds, eight assists, and six points for Iowa State (2-0), which continues to show balance on both ends of the floor. Crooks entered the game coming off a 20-point performance in the season-opening win over St. Thomas (Minn.).
For Southern (0-2), Zaria Hurston led the way with 14 points, while Anaja Hall and Jocelyn Tate each finished with 11. The Jaguars, who dropped their opener 86-51 to No. 21 Iowa, will continue a tough early schedule when they visit No. 12 Ole Miss on Nov. 12.
