Ames, IA—While the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series trophy already belongs to Iowa State this year, the Cyclones aren’t easing off the gas when it comes to their rivalry with Iowa.

On Tuesday night in Ames, the Iowa State softball team put on a strong performance, rolling past the Hawkeyes 9-5. The two programs will meet again later this month in Iowa City, with the rematch set for April 29.

Iowa State’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with Sereniti Trice, Reagan Bartholomew, Karlee Ford, and Isabelle Nosan each collecting two hits. Bartholomew led the way at the plate with three RBIs, while Ford and Nosan each added a pair of runs batted in.

Pitcher Jaiden Ralston picked up her seventh win of the season—setting a new school record in the process. The win also marked a milestone for the Cyclones, as they surpassed their previous single-season win total.

A decisive six-run fourth inning broke the game open for Iowa State. Bartholomew’s two-run double and another double by Nosan fueled the offensive explosion.

The victory adds to Iowa State’s commanding lead in the Cy-Hawk Series, which they have already clinched, now sitting at 14-10 in the overall standings.
