New York, NY – The energy in the Big Apple was nothing short of refined and electric as music lovers gathered to celebrate the incredible mothers of the world. On the eve of this special occasion, there was no better way to honor these “Wonder Women” than with the rich, soulful vocals of none other than Dave Hollister.

Hollister, known for his role in the platinum-selling ‘90s R&B group Blackstreet, has carved out an impressive solo career. Since his breakout 1999 album Ghetto Hymns and its gold-certified follow-up Chicago ‘85…The Movie, he has continued to showcase his signature sound across eight albums. His third release, Things In The Game Done Changed (2002), may not have received the critical acclaim it deserved, but it solidified his status on the charts, ranking as Billboard’s third Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album of the year.

Collaborating with multi-platinum producer Tank, Hollister delivered a project that perfectly complemented his timeless voice.

In 2003, he dropped Real Talk, an album that stayed true to its name by capturing real-life experiences and relationships before he later returned to his gospel roots. His spiritual journey led to projects such as The Book of David: Vol.1 – The Transition and Witness Protection, which paved the way for his role in the United Tenors—a powerhouse gospel group featuring Fred Hammond, Eric Roberson, and Brian Courtney Wilson.

Now at 56, Hollister remains a celebrated figure in R&B, effortlessly captivating audiences alongside an ensemble of remarkably talented performers.

On this particular evening, the New York City Winery provided the perfect setting for an intimate yet high-energy show. Hollister opened the night with the funky groove of Geometry from his 2016 album The Manuscript, setting the stage with his smooth vocals and a tight, dynamic band.

The setlist took fans on a nostalgic journey, featuring the upbeat Keep Lovin’ You from Things In The Game Done Changed and paying homage to legendary artists like Morris Day and the late, great James Brown. Hollister kept the crowd moving with a mix of old-school vibes and fresh energy, seamlessly blending classic sounds with his signature style.

Slowing things down, he delivered a silky rendition of Blackstreet’s iconic No Diggity before diving into selections from Real Talk. Guitarist Darius Johnson set the stage ablaze with a fiery solo, leading into a flawless finale featuring Usher’s Good Kisser—a track Hollister himself helped create.
