Philadelphia, PA–Last evening’s Essence of Entertainment showcase at the exclusive Dell Music Center was truly in a class entirely of its own. Music lovers of all forms flooded its gates to experience the delectable sounds of thirteen-time Grammy Award nominated, Billboard magazine’s rated number one Adult R&B artist better known endearingly as Uncle Charlie, the phenomenal Charlie Wilson.

Presenting the festivities was Dell adored radio personality and Hip Hop pioneer Lady B of Classix Philly’s 107.9 and keeping the crowd bouncing spinning endless jams on the ones and two’s was DJ Supreme Gary O of 105.3 WDAS firing up passionate concertgoers.

Opening for the seasoned BMI and Soul Train Icon Award recipient was Philly’s own beloved recording artist Carol Riddick gracefully blessing the stage with her awesome band performing a sultry mix of jazz and R&B fused tunes featuring newly released collaborative track with producer/drummer Eric Seats “I Don’t Care“, a rhythmic rendition to Michael Jackson’s “I Can’t Help It” including free-flowing single “Once You Let Go” off her 2015 sophomore release Love Phases having listeners dig her vibe.

Showing love to ConFunkShun classic “Love’s Train” with her background singers in tow, the songstress delivered sensuously to Janet Jackson’s “Funny How Time Flies“, The Roots “You Got Me” before paying a melodic tribute to Fellow Philly artists, Anthony Hamilton, Musiq Soulchild along with greats Patti Labelle and Teddy Pendergrass exquisitely executing “If Only You Knew“, “Come Go With Me” along with Frankie Beverly/Maze hits “We Are One” and “Before I Let Go” beautifully engaging the crowd.

Lady B reappeared introducing the evening’s headliner, giving him much deserved flowers as his life’s journey has truly been a manifestation from above. Hitting the stage dripping in Gold, Uncle Charlie opened his set to Gap Band hits “Party Train“, “Early In the Morning“, 2002 Snoop and Pharrell smash collabo “Beautiful” followed by “Life Of The Party” off his 2010 fifth album Just Charlie igniting the entire venue.

Simmering the soiree, he slid into a suave mix with Guy’s “Let’s Chill” and 1985 classic “Computer Love” with one of his background singers slaying Shirley Murdock’s hook before revving to “Burn Rubber“. Humbly declaring singing as many songs allowed to the massive ecstatic audience, he performed a multitude of number one hits “Charlie, Last Name Wilson“, “Can’t Live Without You“, “All I Have“, “Chills” and 2009 Grammy nominated anthem “There Goes My Baby” sending fans straight out the stratosphere.

Bonding with his mass fan base the two-time NAACP Image Award winner playfully asked for a show of first time attendees after requesting admirers to light their cell phones up in the air unknowingly creating the most beautiful light display with a full moon backdrop for a picture worthy finish.

Setting the mood just right for his final set, the music icon gave spectacular praise to God before delivering flawlessly to hits “Yearning For Your Love“, “I Wanna Be Your Man“, “You Are“, “I’m Blessed“, “Outstanding” and new 2022 number one jam “No Stopping Us” featuring Babyface, K-Ci and Johnny Gill bringing the sold-out crowd to their feet wanting more.
