NEW YORK — Jasson Domínguez capped off a thrilling late-game comeback with a towering solo home run in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the New York Yankees to a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

With the game tied and one out in the ninth, the 21-year-old outfielder crushed a 2-0 pitch from Texas reliever Luke Jackson (0-4) into the second deck in right field, giving the Yankees their third straight win and seventh in their last nine games.

Domínguez’s blast — the first walk-off home run of his career — erased what had been a 3-1 Texas lead heading into the late innings.

Rangers Jump Ahead Early:

Texas built their advantage behind the long ball, with Jake Burger launching two solo shots and Sam Haggerty adding another in the seventh to push the lead to 3-1.

But New York chipped away. Cody Bellinger homered off Jacob deGrom to lead off the bottom of the seventh, cutting the deficit to one. Aaron Judge followed with a clutch RBI single in the eighth to even the score at 3-3.

DeGrom Shines in Bronx Return, Denied Win:

Wednesday marked Jacob deGrom’s much-anticipated return to New York. The former Mets ace, now with the Rangers, made his first start in the city since 2022 — and his first in the Bronx since 2018. The 36-year-old was sharp, striking out nine over seven innings and allowing just three hits and one run on 103 pitches.

It was deGrom’s first time reaching the 100-pitch mark in over a dozen starts since his return from Tommy John surgery last year — and the most pitches he’s thrown since April 2021. Still, the Yankees’ late rally left him with a no-decision.

Other Notes:

DJ LeMahieu drove in New York’s first run with a groundout in the second.

Cody Bellinger had two hits and extended his hitting streak to a career-high 15 games.

Yankees starter Ryan Yarbrough turned in a solid outing, striking out eight and allowing one run over five innings.

Luke Weaver (1-1) earned the win with a clean ninth inning.

Texas catcher Jonah Heim exited in the second inning due to a compressed nerve in his throwing hand, further depleting the Rangers’ lineup.

Key Stat:

Since 2014, Jacob deGrom has now gone at least seven innings while allowing two runs or fewer 37 times without recording a win — tied with Max Scherzer for the most such games in MLB during that span.

Looking Ahead:

The Yankees send Carlos Rodón (5-3, 3.17 ERA) to the mound Thursday afternoon to face Nathan Eovaldi (4-2, 1.61 ERA) for Texas. Weather forecasts call for possible heavy rain at first pitch.
