Fairfax, VA—George Mason continued its strong run through the Atlantic 10 on Saturday, pulling away late to secure an 86-80 win over rival VCU.
Jermahri Hill and Riley Allenspach paced the Patriots with 16 points apiece. Hill also grabbed five rebounds, while Allenspach delivered an efficient shooting performance, missing just one shot on the night as he went 7-for-8 from the floor.
Kory Mincy provided a steady scoring presence with 15 points, connecting on 5 of 9 attempts overall, including two 3-pointers, and knocking down three of four free throws. Jahari Long added 14 points, including the free throw that put George Mason ahead for good at 57-56 with 9:06 remaining.

Masai Troutman contributed 13 points, with 11 coming in the opening half as the Patriots carried a narrow 38-37 lead into halftime. George Mason’s balanced attack and late execution helped extend its winning streak to seven games.
VCU stayed within striking distance behind a strong showing from Lazar Djokovic, who poured in a game-high 23 points for the Rams. Terrence Hill Jr. followed with 16 points while also collecting six rebounds and dishing out four assists.
With the victory, George Mason improved to 16-1 overall and 4-0 in Atlantic 10 play, while VCU dropped to 11-6 and 2-2 in conference action.
