
New York, NY— Monty, a Giant Schnauzer, claimed the prestigious title of Best in Show at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, presented by Purina Pro Plan. The event, held at Madison Square Garden — also known as “The World’s Most Famous Arena” — concluded on Tuesday, February 11, under the watchful eye of Judge Paula Nykiel from Washington, Missouri.
Monty, a 5-year-old male from Ocean City, NJ, officially known as GCHG CH Hearthmore’s Wintergreen Mountain RI CGC TKN FITB, triumphed over more than 2,500 dogs entered in conformation. The two-day Best of Breed competition, which took place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from Monday, February 10 to Tuesday, February 11, culminated in the Group and Best in Show finals at the iconic venue in New York City.
Bourbon, a 9-year-old female Whippet, known officially as GCHP CH Pinnacle Kentucky Bourbon, earned the Reserve Best in Show title. Bourbon was handled by Cheslie Pickett Smithey.
