Group Therapy Tour Rocks The Garden

The invigorating ambiance was infectious at the world-famous NYC Madison Square Garden arena Saturday night. Fans of all ages awaited the arrival of South Carolina’s own, Hootie & The Blowfish to take center stage. Opening the show was Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies who warmed up the set with several hits including “One Week”, “Big Bang Theory Song Theme” and “Odds Are”. Their comedic, folk-rock sound had the crowd enjoying the stage presence while dancing to their beats. Since their 1991 debut, they’ve climbed the Canadian and American charts selling over 15 million records worldwide with 24 nominations and 11 Awards, including 2 Billboards, 8 Juno, 1 World Music Award all while being inducted in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. After twenty-eight years and sixteen albums later, these Ontario rock stars look and sound just as they did from inception proving they still love to jam.

Hootie & The Blowfish rocked the Garden in true signature style-making the crowd go wild on their first tour in over a decade. Performing chart totting fan favorites “Only Wanna Be With You”, “Hold My Hand’ and “Time” bringing the arena to a screaming frenzy. Following the success of “Cracked Rear View” the quartet’s debut album, the band became a household name making it the 19th best selling album of all time in the US and going twenty-one times certified platinum. Selling over 21 million copies, countless nominations, including 2 American Music Awards, 2 Grammys and 1 MTV Video Music Award, Hootie & The Blowfish continues to sell out concerts nationwide. Showing no signs of the band’s hiatus, they took the Garden by storm executing a show-stopping performance.
