San Antonio, Tx-Tulane dominated from start to finish on the road Saturday, handing UTSA its ninth straight loss with an 85–52 blowout to remain unbeaten in American Athletic Conference play and extend its winning streak to five games.

The Green Wave overwhelmed the Roadrunners with perimeter shooting, as Rowan Brumbaugh and Curtis Williams Jr. combined for 45 points and seven different Tulane players knocked down three-pointers. Tulane shot 45 percent from beyond the arc, using its long-range accuracy to seize early control and never look back.

Entering the contest, Tulane ranked second in the AAC in three-point percentage (.417) and three-pointers made per game (10). The Green Wave exceeded those averages against UTSA, drilling 19 of 42 shots from deep in one of their most efficient shooting performances of the season. Tulane improved to 12–4 overall and 3–0 in conference play with the win.

UTSA briefly led after Austin Nunez opened the game with a three-pointer — the only time the Roadrunners were in front all night. The junior redshirt guard finished with a team-high 12 points and two assists as UTSA fell to 4–12 overall and 0–4 in AAC action.

Brumbaugh, a redshirt junior guard and the 2025–26 AAC Preseason Player of the Year, quickly took over. He scored nine straight points during a 15–0 Tulane run, draining two three-pointers as the Green Wave surged to a 28–11 lead with 7:41 remaining in the first half. That stretch set the tone for the remainder of the game. Brumbaugh later buried a second-chance three late in the half, giving Tulane its largest lead of the opening period at 20 points before taking an 18-point advantage into halftime.

The margin only grew after the break. Williams Jr. punctuated a second-half run with a dunk before K.J. Greene connected from deep to push Tulane’s lead to 80–42 with 3:29 remaining. Williams Jr. finished with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including six three-pointers, while adding four assists and two rebounds.

Tulane kept its foot on the gas until the final minutes, as Brumbaugh — who totaled 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and six three-pointers on 8-of-14 shooting — remained in the game until 1:42 remained in the contest. The Green Wave closed out the night with a commanding 85–52 victory.

For UTSA, Kaidon Rayfield provided a bright spot off the bench, scoring nine points and grabbing four rebounds.

“I thought [Rayfield] did a good job when he got in,” UTSA head coach Austin Claunch said. “He plays with spirit and plays hard. He’s a young player with a really bright future. He played with great poise and toughness today. I’ve got about 48 hours of practice to figure out what we’re going to do to get more of that from the team.”

Tulane will return home to host UAB on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. CST, while UTSA will look to regroup when it hosts Rice on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CST to close its three-game homestand.
