Ladies Night R&B Super Jam Concert Lights Up Barclays Center

Brooklyn, NY—Brooklyn’s Barclays Center was transformed into a haven for R&B enthusiasts on February 9th, as the much-anticipated “Ladies Night R&B Super Jam Concert” took center stage. The event, which showcased some of the genre’s most iconic voices, drew a diverse crowd eager to immerse themselves in an evening of soulful melodies and captivating performances.

The concert lineup featured a star-studded roster of talent, including Grammy-winning artists, emerging stars, and beloved icons of R&B music. From timeless classics to contemporary hits, each artist delivered electrifying sets that kept the audience on their feet throughout the night.

Kicking off the festivities was Kenny Lattimore, whose smooth vocals and infectious energy set the tone for the evening. As he crooned his way through a mix of original tracks and crowd-pleasing covers, fans were treated to a taste of Kenny’s undeniable talent and magnetic stage presence. He blessed the crowd with songs like “Love Me Back”, “Weekend”, “And I Love Her”, “Come To Me” and ended his set with his classic “For You”.

Following Lattimore’s opening act, the stage was graced by the presence of Silk, whose soul-stirring performance left a lasting impression on concert-goers. From soulful ballads to high-energy anthems, Silk captivated the audience with their powerhouse vocals and soulful delivery, proving why they remains a force to be reckoned with in the world of R&B music. They bust on the stage with cuts like “Meeting In My Bedroom”, Hooked On You”, “Loose Control”, and dazzled the crowd with “Freak Me”.

As the night progressed, the Barclays Center erupted in cheers as legendary Brian McKnight took to the stage. Rocking all black and commanding the spotlight with his signature charisma, McKnight delivered a show-stopping performance that spanned decades of hits and left fans in awe of his enduring talent and undeniable star power. McKnight got the crowd warmed up with “Still In Love”, “The Only One For Me”, “One Last Cry”, “Back At One”, and he closed out his set with “Stay”.

Robin Thicke is known for his smooth and soulful voice, as well as his ability to blend various musical styles such as R&B, pop, and funk took the stage after McKnight.

Thicke’s music career began in the late 1990s when he started writing and producing songs for other artists, including Christina Aguilera and Usher. He released his debut album, “A Beautiful World,” in 2003, but it was his second album, “The Evolution of Robin Thicke” (2006), that garnered significant attention and success. The album featured the hit singles “Lost Without U” and “Can U Believe,” showcasing Thicke’s soulful vocals and songwriting skills and he disappoint hitting those notes at the Barclays.

In 2013, Robin Thicke achieved international fame with his controversial and immensely popular single “Blurred Lines,” featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams. The song topped charts worldwide but also faced criticism for its lyrical content and portrayal of women.

Thicke has released several other albums throughout his career, including “Love After War” (2011), “Paula” (2014), and “Blurred Lines” (2013). He has collaborated with various artists across different genres and has earned several awards and nominations for his music, including Grammy nominations.

Next to take the stage was Faith Evans who emerged onto the music scene in the 1990s and became known for her soulful voice and R&B music style. She gained widespread recognition with her debut album, “Faith,” released in 1995, which featured the hit singles “You Used to Love Me” and “Soon as I Get Home” and she sung both those classics along with “Burning Up”, and “Love Like This”. Evans had to cut her set short because of the  loudness between different songs weren’t playing at the same volume. But, Evans got threw it and thanked her loyal fans.

Rounding out the lineup was Jodeci formed in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the early 1990s. The group consists of two pairs of brothers: Cedric and Joel Hailey, also known as K-Ci and JoJo, Donald, and Dalvin DeGrate.

Jodeci rose to fame in the early 1990s with their debut album, “Forever My Lady,” released in 1991. The album was a commercial success, reaching multi-platinum status and spawning hit singles such as “Stay,” “Forever My Lady,” and “Come and Talk to Me.” Their music blended elements of traditional R&B with hip-hop influences, and they were known for their smooth harmonies and sensual lyrics and they sang them all getting the crowd up on their feet.

The group followed up their debut with several more successful albums, including “Diary of a Mad Band” (1993) and “The Show, the After Party, the Hotel” (1995). Some of their other popular songs include “Freek’n You,” “Cry for You,” and “Feenin'” which had the audience dancing in the aisle.

From start to finish, the “Ladies Night R&B Super Jam Concert” proved to be a celebration of musical excellence, and the enduring legacy of R&B music. As fans filed out of the Barclays Center, their hearts full and spirits uplifted, it was clear that they had witnessed something truly special—a night to remember in the annals of R&B history.
