Bronx, NY—-Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present the I LIKE IT LIKE THAT on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 8 PM. Directed by Waddy Jáquez and produced by David Maldonado and David Rodriguez, the producers of the hit musical I LIKE IT LIKE THAT launch an electrifying concert tour, featuring an all-star band and original cast performing extended versions of both beloved classics and new hits.
The musical I Like It Like That transports audiences to the vibrant and turbulent streets of 1970s New York City, where Spanish Harlem (El Barrio) buzzes with life, music, and social change. With over 30 timeless favorites from iconic artists Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, La Lupe, Willie Colon, Ismael Rivera, Johnny Pacheco, Héctor Lavoe, Rubén Blades, Ismael Miranda, Pete Rodriguez, Joe Cuba, this show takes audiences on a historical musical journey through the vibrant sounds of Mambo, Salsa, Rumba, and Boogaloo that emerged from New York City’s Latino neighborhoods.
I Like It Like That – The Musical In Concert showcases the heart and soul of the production in an immersive musical format. Unlike the full production, this concert will focus mainly on the music and will feature an all-star band performing extended versions of both existing and new songs, enhancing the musical experience. From Grammy-winning talents to freestyle legends, the fusion of these dynamic artists guarantees an unmatched musical experience. The stellar cast features GEORGE LAMOND, JUDY TORRES, MICHAEL STAURT, OBIE BERMUDEZ, GRIZEL DEL VALLE, FLACO NAVAJA, CARIDAD DE LA LUZ, ROSSMERY ALMONTE, LEE BURGOS, and JUAN RAMIREZ JR.
The band presents an outstanding lineup, including musical director BOBBY ALLENDE with ANTHONY CARRILLO, IVAN RENTA, ADAN PEREZ, HOMMY RAMOS, MANUEL “MANECO” RUIZ, and RUBEN RODRIGUEZ.

The Lehman Center is accessible by #4 or D train to Bedford Park Blvd. and is off the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Major Deegan Expressway. Patrons who purchase VIP tickets (first 9 rows of Orchestra Center) are invited to attend a special reception at 6:30pm on the day of the show. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres catered by Havana Cafe.
