Bronx, NY——-Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present AN EXCLUSIVE VALENTINE’S DAY CONCERT WITH REY RUIZ, marking his debut performance on Saturday, February 14th, 2026 at 8:00 pm. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an evening of romance and rhythm as multi-platinum salsa heartthrob REY RUIZ takes the stage for a night dedicated to love, passion, and timeless Latin music.
Known for his smooth delivery and romantic sound, Ruiz invites audiences to experience the warmth, elegance, and enduring romance that have defined his celebrated career.
REY RUIZ, “The Heartthrob of Salsa,” known for his tender, romantic style and undeniable charm, has a career that spans decades of chart-topping success. Born in Havana, Cuba, Ruiz began performing at an early age, appearing on Cuban television as a child and later receiving formal training at la Escuela Nacional de Arte.
His early career included prestigious performances at the Habana Libre Hotel and as a featured singer with the legendary Cabaret Tropicana. After relocating to the United States and establishing himself in Miami, Ruiz emerged as a powerful solo artist, captivating audiences across Latin America, Europe, and the United States with his refined sound and emotional delivery.
Ruiz achieved breakthrough success signing with Sony Records and releasing his self-titled album, Rey Ruiz, which achieved platinum status and propelled him to stardom, earning multiple Billboard and Premios Lo Nuestro awards and leading to his distinction as “Salsa Singer of the Year” in 1993.
That momentum continued with a string of popular albums including Mi Media Mitad and En Cuerpo y Alma, featuring enduring hits such as “Si Te Preguntan,” “Estamos Solos,” and “Miénteme Otra Vez,” and culminating in a performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden for El Festival del Salsa.
Ruiz later released Porque Es Amor, featuring fan favorites “Mi Ángel” and “Tú No Sabes,” followed by Éxitos del Rey and Ya Ves Quien Soy, a self-produced project under Luna Negra, solidifying his legacy as one of salsa music’s most respected and beloved artists.
