Uncasville, CT–The aura at Mohegan Sun Arena Saturday night was beyond electrifying. Over 7,000 fleet-footed fans jammed its doors to enjoy music’s ultimate American Idol, the legendary Lionel Richie.

From the moment the lights dimmed, one could feel the excitement racing through the venue. Kicking off the festivities was an amazing digital display of the icon’s spectacular career spanning over fifty years of outstanding music and accolades before the megastar graced the stage.

Sporting a gold-sequin flight jacket, the crooning heavyweight hit the spotlight powerhouse style to his 1983 hit single “Running With The Night” off his multiplatinum sophomore album Can’t Slow Down to a massively ecstatic crowd.

Slowing the tempo, he took fans on a lovefest voyage with classic all-time ballads “Easy”, “My Love”, “Penny Lover” and “You Are” from his 1982 self-titled debut album Lionel Richie before taking a moment to connect with his sea of enduring melodic lovers.

Reminiscing on lifetime achievements, he gave testimony by way of a fan in front row who was far younger than his last 2012 recording. Fascinated by her presence, the four time Grammy, Academy and Golden Globe awardee invited dad to place the tot on stage symbolizing the time line of his loyal fan base saying “This represents a full career”.

Cherishing the moment, the diamond certified virtuoso reciprocated sentiments with his 1984 country music smash “Stuck On You” before turning up a notch on world-wide hit “Dancing On The Ceiling” then eloquently playing piano keys to “Three Times A Lady” before a brief intermission.

Donning a red tailcoat and reenergized, the international superstar continued the party with “Lady (You Bring Me Up)”, “Just To Be Close To You” along with flawless Diana Ross duet “Endless Love” being reprised by the sold-out coliseum’s vocals which became the spin-off to his solo career.

Closing the stellar production on “Brick House”, Ohio Player’s “Fire”, “Hello”, “Say You Say Me”, “We Are The World” as well as ultimate celebration anthem “All Night Long” while missing many other chart toppers from “Truly”, “My Love” and the late Kenny Rogers hit “Lady”, this seasoned music veteran has validated his status over five decades. Judging by this performance, the mogul continues to bless generations with his exceptional antiquity.
