Love And Laughter Was In The Air At The NJPAC’s V-Day Comedy Show

Newark, NJ–The Valentine’s Day All star comedy show hosted by Newark, New Jersey’s own Bill Bellamy at the NJPAC was a huge success Saturday night. Couples looking to enjoy a night of love and laughter came out to celebrate full blown grown style at the sold out venue.

The amorous comedian/actor known for his flirtatious roles in “Booty Call”, “How To Be A Player” and boastful football jock in “Any Given Sunday” has appeared in countless films and TV shows throughout his thirty-five plus year career though always returning back to his first love, comedy. Since his Def Comedy Jam days, Bellamy has continued in his comedic roots hosting Last Comic Standing while venturing out on his own.

The suave funny man presented his showcase in true humorous fashion warming up the crowd before handing over the spotlight to iconic Crown Royal Comedy queen herself, Adele Givens. The hysterically sassy comedian, actress and writer famed for her stand-up work in Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo, Queens of Comedy as well as numerous TV shows “Martin”, “The Parkers”, and various movies including “The Players Club” and “Beauty Shop” had spectators laughing their behinds off with her slickster punchlines and her “such a freakin lady” signature. After over thirty years in the game, this Chi-Town native still keeps audiences rolling out their seats.

Closing out the fun-filled event was the evening’s headliner Mr. “No Limits” himself vet comedian/actor Eddie Griffin. Best known for his roles as the sly roommate on TV sitcom “Malcolm & Eddie”, the smooth agent in “Undercover Brother” along with several other films including “Deuce Bigalow-Male Gigalow, European Gigalow”, “John Q” and “Scary Movie 3”, the seasoned Kansas City local was the excitement of the night.

Sharing his gift of laughter for well over three decades, the skillful humorist had the entire venue bending over in tears of amusement flossing through topics ranging from race relations, politics, sexuality, and everyday life making the crowd giggle till their stomachs ached.
