CHICAGO, IL The Phoenix Mercury were on fire from beyond the arc Saturday afternoon, drilling a franchise-record 17 three-pointers en route to a 107–86 blowout victory over the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena.

Sami Whitcomb led the perimeter barrage with five triples and 17 points, while Kahleah Copper added 16 points in the team’s fifth consecutive win. Phoenix improved to 11–4, their best stretch since their 10-game win streak back in 2021.

In total, six different Mercury players sank at least two three-pointers, tying the WNBA single-game record for most players with multiple threes.

The highlight of the night came in the closing seconds when Kalani Brown, the 6-foot-7 center, knocked down just the second three-pointer of her career with 25.6 seconds remaining—breaking the team’s previous record of 16 made threes in a game.

Phoenix’s offense was nearly unstoppable:

35-of-68 shooting from the field (51.5%)

17-of-35 from deep (48.6%)

20-of-24 from the line

25 total assists

The Mercury’s scoring barrage also marked a season-high 107 points, coming just two days after their statement win over the defending champion New York Liberty.

Satou Sabally chipped in with 15 points, while Alyssa Thomas contributed 11 points and 8 assists. Both Brown and Kitija Laksa added 11 points off the bench, continuing Phoenix’s deep and balanced attack.

The Sky, now 3–9, struggled to contain the hot-handed visitors and have now dropped five of their last six games. Kamilla Cardoso and Michaela Onyenwere each scored 17 points for Chicago, but the team managed just 22 total rebounds—a season low—and couldn’t keep up with Phoenix’s pace.

Rookie sensation Angel Reese was held to just nine points and a career-low two rebounds, ending her streak of double-digit boards.
