Conway, S.C. — Georgia State put together one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season Saturday, knocking off Coastal Carolina 89–71 behind a balanced scoring attack.

Malachi Brown led the way with 23 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and knocking down five of his nine attempts from three-point range. His perimeter shooting helped Georgia State (5–11, 2–2 Sun Belt Conference) build and maintain control throughout the contest.

The Panthers received major contributions from multiple scorers. Trey Scott III poured in 22 points on an ultra-efficient 7-of-9 shooting night, connecting on all four of his three-point attempts and going a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. Jelani Hamilton matched Scott with 22 points of his own, hitting seven shots from the field, including four from beyond the arc, and converting all four of his free throws.

Coastal Carolina (8–8, 1–3) struggled to keep pace with Georgia State’s offensive rhythm. Rasheed Jones paced the Chanticleers with 18 points, while AJ Dancier chipped in 16. DaJohn Craig added eight points, but the home team lacked enough firepower to counter Georgia State’s sharpshooting night.

The Panthers’ combination of accuracy from long range and scoring depth proved too much, allowing Georgia State to pull away and secure the conference road victory.
