NEWARK, N.J. — David Perron capped a three-goal second period with a power-play goal as the Ottawa Senators held off the New Jersey Devils for a 3-2 victory on Saturday night.
Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson also found the net for Ottawa, which has now won seven of its last nine games. Goaltender Linus Ullmark made 25 saves to secure the win.
Nico Hischier and Erik Haula scored for the Devils, who have dropped three of their last four games. Jake Allen stopped 16 shots in the loss.

Tkachuk opened the scoring with his 28th goal at 4:05 of the second period, followed quickly by Batherson’s 20th at 4:38 to put Ottawa up 2-0.
Hischier responded with a power-play goal at 7:13, his 30th of the season, extending his point streak to six games. However, Perron struck back just 1:31 later with his sixth goal to restore Ottawa’s two-goal lead.
Haula made things interesting, cutting the deficit to 3-2 with 23 seconds remaining in regulation, but the Devils couldn’t find the equalizer despite several late chances. Ullmark made key stops, and Jake Sanderson cleared a dangerous puck near the goalmouth in the final seconds.
