Metairie, La., LA—The only NFL-sanctioned inspirational event of Super Bowl weekend has arrived in New Orleans, taking center stage at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre for the Performing Arts. This highly anticipated night of music, faith, and recognition will air on Fox on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. EST, blending a concert experience with an awards ceremony. The event aims to unite athletes, entertainers, and sports figures through faith, praise, and performance.
This year’s esteemed honorees include NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan and Washington Commanders’ rookie sensation Jayden Daniels. The night will also feature performances by gospel star Jonathan McReynolds and Grammy-winning artist Muni Long.
Honorees:
Michael Strahan will receive the Lifetime of Inspiration Award in recognition of his profound influence both on and off the field. The former New York Giants defensive end dedicated 15 years to the team, earning five All-Pro selections, seven Pro Bowl appearances, and a Super Bowl victory in 2008.
Beyond football, Strahan has made a name for himself in media while remaining committed to philanthropy. His Michael Strahan Foundation supports youth in New York and beyond, helping fund programs that enhance education, safety, and wellness. He also hosts an annual charity golf tournament, with proceeds going toward community initiatives.
Strahan’s personal life recently made headlines when his 19-year-old daughter, Isabella, went into remission from medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in July 2024.
Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, will be honored with the Faith in Action Award for his record-breaking rookie season and unwavering display of faith. The No. 2 overall pick led his team to a historic turnaround, helping the Commanders finish 12-5 and reach the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1991. He also set the record for the highest completion percentage ever recorded by a rookie quarterback.
The Los Angeles Rams will have strong representation, with two players receiving awards for their achievements:
- Cobie Durant, a South Carolina State alumnus and fourth-round pick in 2022, will be honored with the HBCU Spotlight Player Award.
- Jared Verse, who emerged as a dominant force in his rookie season, will take home the Rising Star Award. The Florida State linebacker led all rookies in QB pressures, hits, and hurries, earning him Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints will receive the Community Award for his commitment to service and leadership. The eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro has been a pillar of the community throughout his 14-year NFL career. Through the Cam Jordan Foundation and his recently launched Legacy Scholars Program, he works to provide underprivileged youth with resources and opportunities for a brighter future. Jordan is also an active volunteer, mentor, and ambassador for various charitable organizations.
Performances:
The event will showcase an incredible lineup of musical acts. In addition to Muni Long, R&B legends The Isley Brothers will take the stage, along with New Orleans icons Master P, Lucky Daye, Big Freedia, and Trombone Shorty.
Gospel performances will feature Grammy-winning artists Yolanda Adams and Tori Kelly, along with the NFL Players Choir, delivering powerful moments of inspiration through music.
Hosts & Theme:
Hosting duties for the evening will be shared by actor and comedian Bill Bellamy and television personality Rocsi Diaz, co-host of Tubi’s talk show We Got Time Today alongside Deion Sanders.
With this year’s theme of “Keep Going,” the event will shine a spotlight on the resilience and rich cultural legacy of New Orleans. It will celebrate the city’s enduring spirit, its deep impact on music and lifestyle, and its unwavering ability to inspire the world.
