UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Kelsey Plum scorched the nets for 30 points and dished out six assists, leading the red-hot Los Angeles Sparks to a 101-86 win over the Connecticut Sun on Thursday night. Dearica Hamby added a dominant double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds as L.A. extended its winning streak to four.

The Sparks (10-14) are in the midst of their best stretch of the season, and Thursday’s victory marked their second win over Connecticut in less than two weeks. Their hot streak began with a 92-88 win against the Sun on July 13, a game that snapped a 13-game losing streak to the franchise.

Offensively, the Sparks were firing on all cylinders. They scored a season-high 101 points and have now hit the 90-point mark in four straight games, tying a franchise record first set in 2013.

Azurá Stevens delivered a strong all-around performance with 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Julie Allemand also chipped in 12 points in the win.

Stevens gave the Sparks the lead for good with a 3-pointer early in the third quarter, sparking a 17-5 run that stretched the lead to 64-54 midway through the period.

The Sun (3-20) were led by veteran center Tina Charles, who finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 17 points in the loss. Bria Hartley contributed 16 points in just 18 minutes but was ejected early in the third quarter after picking up her second technical foul.

Connecticut continues to slide, now having lost four straight and 14 of their last 15 games.
