Hartford, Conn. — The UConn Huskies closed out their home slate for the calendar year in dominant fashion Wednesday night, rolling past the Marquette Golden Eagles 89–53 behind a commanding performance from Sarah Strong.
Strong poured in 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds in just three quarters of action, setting the tone for a Huskies team that continued to overwhelm opponents on its home floor. UConn improved to 11–0 overall and 3–0 in Big East play, finishing a perfect 14–0 at home in 2025 with an average margin of victory of 44 points.
Azzi Fudd added 14 points in 23 efficient minutes, while Blanca Quiñones scored 12 and Serah Williams chipped in 11 points and six rebounds. By the end of the third quarter, the outcome was all but decided, with UConn holding a staggering 73–29 lead. None of the Huskies’ starters appeared in the fourth quarter.
UConn’s offense was crisp throughout, highlighted by a first-half stretch in which the Huskies made eight consecutive field goals. Marquette struggled to keep pace, managing just one instance of back-to-back baskets before halftime.

The Golden Eagles did find some rhythm late, outscoring UConn 24–16 in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was far too large to overcome.
Skylar Forbes led Marquette with 17 points, scoring 11 of them in the final 7½ minutes. The Golden Eagles played without key reserve Jordan Meuleman, their top scorer off the bench, and fell to 0–8 all-time against top-ranked teams — seven of those losses coming against UConn.
The Huskies also continued their trademark ball movement, recording 23 assists and reaching at least 20 assists for the 10th straight game. Kayleigh Heckel led the way with six assists.
