Washington, DC—Devin Booker led the Phoenix Suns with 37 points, and Kevin Durant contributed 23 as the Suns managed to fend off a late charge from the Washington Wizards, winning 130-123 on Thursday night.

Booker, who has now scored over 30 points in three consecutive games, helped Phoenix hold onto a significant lead after Washington mounted a strong rally, cutting a 24-point deficit to just three in the closing minutes of the game.

In addition to Booker’s stellar performance, rookie Ryan Dunn posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Grayson Allen scored 21. Phoenix improved to 1-1 on their five-game road trip with the win.

Tyus Jones also played a key role, contributing nine points and 10 assists as the Suns extended their record to 5-2 over their last seven games.

For the Wizards, rookie Keyshawn George had a career-best outing, scoring 24 points. Despite his impressive performance, Washington dropped their eighth consecutive game, although they managed to avoid a fourth straight double-digit loss. Jordan Poole added 18 points, while Alex Sarr contributed 16 points and nine rebounds in the defeat.

Wizards: George was exceptional in his 31 minutes of play, finishing 8 of 10 from the field, including 6 of 8 from beyond the arc, but his efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Suns’ offensive firepower.
