SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Anthony Edwards filled the stat sheet with 26 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals as the Minnesota Timberwolves cruised past the Sacramento Kings, 144–117, on Sunday night.
Edwards shot 7-of-16 from the floor, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, and went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. The 23-year-old guard continued his hot streak after scoring 37 points in Friday’s 137–97 blowout over Utah, connecting on 12 of his last 23 three-point attempts across the two games.
Jaden McDaniels added 21 points, while Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert each contributed 19 for Minnesota (6–4). Gobert also dominated defensively with 12 rebounds and five blocks, and Naz Reid chipped in 13 points off the bench.
For Sacramento (3–7), Zach LaVine matched Edwards with 26 points, and DeMar DeRozan followed with 22. Domantas Sabonis returned from a two-game absence due to rib soreness, posting 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Edwards struggled early, missing his first five shots before sparking to life late in the second quarter. A deep three-pointer and a four-point play midway through the period stretched Minnesota’s lead to 67–48. He finished the quarter with 16 points, going 4-for-6 from the field and 3-for-3 from long range while knocking down 5 of 6 free throws.
The Timberwolves took a 71–54 advantage into halftime and kept rolling in the third. Reid’s layup pushed the margin to 99–71 — the largest of the night — as Minnesota piled up 40 points in both the second and third quarters and outscored Sacramento 64–42 in the paint.
With the game out of reach, Kings fans began chanting for Keon Ellis late in the third quarter, and the young guard entered to start the fourth.
