San Antonio– UTSA cruised to an 84-56 victory over Rice on Sunday, snapping a six-game losing streak with a dominant performance.
Marcus Millender led the way for the Roadrunners (11-17, 5-11 American Athletic Conference), scoring 25 points and adding seven assists. Primo Spears also contributed 25 points, shooting 9 of 16 from the field, including 6 of 9 from beyond the arc, and went 1 of 3 from the free-throw line. Jonnivius Smith chipped in with 15 points, hitting 4 of 8 shots from the floor, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range, and 5 of 6 from the charity stripe.

Rice (13-17, 4-13) was led by Caden Powell, who recorded 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Andrew Akuchie scored 10 points, while Trae Broadnax added eight points for the Owls.
The Roadrunners took control late in the first half, pulling ahead 31-23 at the break after a 3:10 run. Millender was key in the opening period, scoring 10 points. Spears took over in the second half, scoring 19 points to propel UTSA to a dominant 53-point second half and a comfortable 28-point victory.
