East Rutherford, N.J. FC Porto and Al Ahly delivered a dramatic finale to their Club World Cup campaigns, playing to a breathtaking 4–4 draw Monday night at MetLife Stadium.

Pepê rescued Porto in the 89th minute, firing home a right-footed equalizer from just outside the penalty arc after receiving a well-timed assist from Gabri Veiga. The goal capped an epic back-and-forth encounter that saw both sides exchange blows and level the score four times.

The star of the night was Wessam Abou Ali, who netted a hat trick for the Egyptian giants. His scoring spree included a sharp-angle finish off the post, a calm penalty to the bottom left corner, and a towering header off a cross from Mohamed Hany to momentarily give Al Ahly a 3–2 edge.

Porto kept pace thanks to goals from Rodrigo Mora, William Gomes, and Samu Aghehowa, the latter scoring a header off a Fabio Vieira corner just minutes after Abou Ali’s third goal.

Al Ahly reclaimed the lead in the 64th minute through Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, who rifled in a shot from the edge of the box after a clever pass from Achraf Bencharki. But Porto refused to back down, and Pepê’s late strike ensured both sides would leave with a point.

Despite the fireworks, the result meant both teams were eliminated from the tournament. With Palmeiras and Inter Miami drawing 2–2 in their final Group A match, both advanced with five points. FC Porto and Al Ahly, finishing with two points each (0-1-2 records), exit the competition without a win. Al Ahly finishes last in the group on goal differential.

Goalkeeper Cláudio Ramos stood tall for Porto, recording six saves in a match where Al Ahly peppered the target with 12 shots on goal.

Though their Club World Cup runs come to an end, both sides left fans with an unforgettable showdown—one packed with skill, intensity, and drama to the final whistle.
