Brooklyn, NY—-The Big3 is in their third season, founded by rapper Ice Cube, which features three-on-three basketball with players that played in the NBA or overseas.

They have 8 teams, which includes 3 Headed Monsters, Trilogy, Power, 3’s Company, Bivouac, Enemies, Aliens, Triplets, Killer 3s, Tri-State, Ghost Ballers and Ball Hogs.

But Sunday had a little controversy at the Barclays, Royce White drew attention over the weekend for a message he had on his head during a Big3 basketball game on Sunday afternoon.

White’s Power beat the Trilogy 50-40 during a Week 3 game at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. White, who is a co-captain, led his team with 20 points. He also led his team in social media mentions.

White had a message saying “TRUMP WON!” written on the side of his during the game. There were mixed views amongst the fans and some let White know about their displeasure at the Barclays Center.

GAME 4: KILLER 3’S (2-1) DEFEATED ALIENS (0-3)

The Killer 3’s usually set their offensive sets off of Franklin “Frank Nitty” Session, but the Aliens denied Nitty without over committing and opening the lanes , forcing him to take long and contested jumpers. Nitty finished the game with nine points on 4-13 shooting from the hardwood and one assist. But the Killers just stuck with the game plan and pulled it out on Sunday.

Donte Greene played lights out, finishing with the contest with 28 points. He was totally a beast on the blocks his physicality helped him to score through contact and over  defenders. Greene finished 4-8 from downtown and drained the only four-pointer he took. Josh Powell and Dominique Johnson were both effective and provided a huge lift for the Killer 3’s.

Greene came through for the Killer 3’s, who sealed their 51-39 win when Dominique Johnson hit a pull-up jumper over Tomislav Ivosev.

For the third consecutive week, the Aliens had a difficult time offensively. Team Captain Dusan Bulut missed a lot of bunnies around the cup, finished shooting 4-12 from the court. For the second consecutive week, he was hit with a technical foul, and he was actually ejected from Sunday’s game – his frustration with how the season is going seems to be sipping over to the Aliens squad.

Ivosev came to play for the Aliens – he was able to work well down low in the post position, hit was able to cut across the lane and drain some jumpers on a consistent basis. He finished with 10 points on 5-7 shooting, 9 rebounds, and a game-high five assists.

GAME 5: 3’S COMPANY (1-2) DEFEAT 3 HEADED MONSTERS (1-2)

The 3’s Company hasn’t lived up to all of their talent and ability, they didn’t want to close out Sunday afternoon 0-3. They came out with a renewed energy and purpose from the very start of the game, they attacked the cup, and moved the ball better this week than the weeks  prior, and that was the silent killer to get the win against 3HM. Julian Wright made himself available by flashing in and out the lanes cutting bunnies and looking for flashers when he had the rock, and finished the contest with 14 points on 7-11 shooting from the floor and a game-high four assists.

3HM had problem getting into an offensive flow of the game and spacing. The team struggled to create space and score. Reggie Evans is a very big body clogging the blocks, and whenever one of his teammates tried to flash across the paint, Evans’ defender was right there to adequate to defend the rim . They need to definitely need to move Evans on the perimeter to create angles and spacing, because 3HM’s offense is not in sync right now.

2022 BIG3 MVP again struggled from the court – with Evans clogging up the court the squad look lost, Murphy put up some deep threes from downtown, and he couldn’t find his stroke. He finished the contest with 13 points on 5-19 shooting from the floor, 1-6 shooting from downtown, and 0-2 shooting from the four-point circles.

The game came to a end when Michael Beasley blocked Jermaine Taylor’s shot. The ball fell into Julian Wright’s hands, and he laid it back up for the 50-42 win.
