For more than two decades, Ledisi, a Grammy-winning vocalist, has captivated audiences with her unmatched vocal prowess. Beyond her singing talent, Ledisi is a multifaceted artist, serving as a songwriter, author, actress, music producer, film producer, publisher, educator, and record company executive.
Drawing inspiration from Shirley Chisholm, the first African American woman elected to Congress, who famously said, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair,” Ledisi embodies a spirit of empowerment and resilience. Rather than seeking validation in spaces where she may not be embraced, Ledisi has taken initiative to create her own platforms. Among her notable ventures are Fig Street Films, Chinweya Publishing, and her latest endeavor, Listen Back Entertainment/BMG.

Raheem DeVaughn, an accomplished American artist, boasts a diverse array of talents including singing, songwriting, record production, and acting. Born in 1975, he currently stands at 42 years old, and his musical repertoire seamlessly traverses R&B, hip-hop, and soul genres. He rose to prominence with his chart-topping single “Woman” from his debut album, The Love Experience, released in 2005.
Early in his career, DeVaughn lent his vocals as a backing vocalist for the hip-hop ensemble Wreckx-N-Effect in the late 1990s. Subsequently, he assumed the role of lead singer for the Washington D.C.-based go-go band Backyard Band in 2003. His journey to stardom saw the release of several mixtapes between 2003 and 2005, paving the way for his signing with Jive Records and the launch of his debut album, The Love Experience. This album birthed hits like “Guess Who Loves You More” and “Customer”, in addition to the iconic “Woman”.
DeVaughn’s collaborations have underscored his versatility and garnered critical acclaim, with notable partnerships with industry heavyweights such as Common, LL Cool J, Jill Scott, and Anthony Hamilton. His collaboration with Common on the track “A Dream” earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.
