City Winery, NY–The New York’s City Winery was graced with the silky sounds of Grammy Award winning songstress Chrisette Michele as the evening’s star headlining entertainment.
Chrisette Michele’s music often explores themes of love, relationships, and empowerment. Additionally, she’s collaborated with various artists across different genres, showcasing her versatility as a vocalist.
For more than a decade, this attractive singer/songwriter has been turning heads in the music industry initially displaying her wide range vocals and collaborations with some of the biggest names in the Hip-Hop/Rap genre Jay Z, Nas, The Game, and Ghostface Killah to name a few.
Building a name for herself, Michele’s debut album I Am was released in 2007 after signing a deal with Def Jam Recordings which caught the eye of music exec extraordinaire L.A. Reid that later led to signing on with Island Def Jam where she excelled with heavyweights Babyface, Will.i.am, and John Legend.
Her 2009 sophomore album Epiphany rose to the top of the Billboard and US Hot R&B/HipHop charts working alongside Neyo and gaining even higher success in her element flossing her exquisite vocals on Rick Ross and Drake’s 2010 smash hit “Aston Martin Music” further solidifying her talents.
Basking in her craft, Michele continued that R&B/HipHop flavor on her third release Let Freedom Reign which peaked at number twenty-five on Billboard’s top 200 and number seven on the US Top R&B/HipHop charts.
Diversifying her gifts, she released mixtapes Love Thy Brother and Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation while further exploring in acting appearing in several TV shows including Girlfriends and VH1’s R&B Divas LA before her fourth album under Motown Records Better earning her a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album in 2014.
After spending two seasons with R&B royalty, Michele embarked on the independent side releasing digital music and later creating her own record label Rich Hipster producing her latest masterpieces Milestone, Out Of Control and newest Gospel themed single “Wait“.
