Seton Hall Takes Down North Texas In The Second Round Of The NIT

South Orange, NJ. — In a commanding performance, Seton Hall secured a 72-58 victory over North Texas in the second round of the NIT on Saturday, led by Dre Davis who poured in 18 points along with four blocks for the Pirates (22-12).

Al-Amir Dawes played a crucial role for Seton Hall killed North Texas with his dribble drive penetration, tallying 14 points despite a 6-of-18 shooting performance (2 for 8 from 3-point range), while also showcasing his versatility with five rebounds and five assists. Isaiah Coleman displayed efficiency, going 6 of 8 from the hardwood to add 14 points to the Pirates’ total.

North Texas (19-15) was paced by Jason Edwards, who notched 23 points and three steals, with C.J. Noland contributing 11 points and seven rebounds. Rubin Jones chipped in 10 points, four assists, and three steals for the Mean Green.

The Pirates seized control of the game late in the first half and maintained their lead throughout, heading into halftime with a 33-24 advantage, with Coleman leading the charge with nine points. In the second half, Davis stepped up for the Pirates, scoring 13 of his team-high 18 points to secure the victory.
