Newark, NJ—The adrenaline was in high gear Saturday night at New Jersey’s own Prudential Center. Fox Sports 1 Premier Boxing Champions Super Lightweight bout with Philadelphia’s “The Dynamite” Karl Dargan against California’s Ivan “Striker” Delgado closed out before the fourth round.

It had been Dargan’s first fight in two years and it seemed he needed to find his groove back but once he did, it was all she wrote. The 36yr old Gold medalist took on the 31yr old “Striker” in the third round clocking him with a right upper-cut and another right blow to land Delgado down in the square circle.

The Los Angeles native tried to keep up his stamina making fearless attempts in the first two rounds wailing on Dargan with his one-two combos but the Philly born pro was just too much to handle.

It came down to the wire when Dargan dropped that second power punch 1:09 into the three round that lead referee Harvey Dock to bring the the fight to a end after Delgado was bewildered behind the impact.

The eight round match-up finished in the third by way of technical knock-out bringing Dargan’s record now (20-1 10KO’s) to Delagdo’s (13-4-2 6KO’s). With “the Dynamite” back in the ring, getting himself reacquainted with the sport and rebuilding his technique is something he intends to work on in order to be ready for the his next contender.
