Conner Harrell Put On A Show For The Tar Heels In Their Spring Game

Chapel Hill, NC—-The UNC Tar Heels concluded the 2023 season with an 8-5 record, including a 4-4 mark in conference play. In their spring football game at Kenan Stadium, quarterbacks Max Johnson and Conner Harrell showcased their skills. Harrell stood out with three touchdown passes, highlighted by explosive plays to Javarius Green, Nate McCollum, and Jordan Shipp.

Meanwhile, Johnson connected with Paul Billups II for a 23-yard touchdown.

Transfer running back Darwin Barlow also made an impact with an 11-yard touchdown run. Additionally, the UNC defense contributed with Will Hardy’s 21-yard interception return.

Official stats were not recorded, but these moments provided a glimpse into the team’s potential moving forward.

North Carolina secured an standout from Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek High and defensive tackle Devin Ancrum committed to the Tar Heels as well. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 295 pounds, Ancrum joins four-star edge rusher Austin Alexander, who pledged on Friday, making it the second consecutive day a defensive lineman that has committed to UNC.

With nine total prospects committing to the Tar Heels, UNC continues to strengthen its roster. Additionally, in the 2024 class, UNC has signed offensive lineman Aiden Banfield and defensive back Jaiden Patterson from Mill Creek High.

So the Tar Heels are locked and loaded for the 2024 football and looking for a successful season barring injuries. Stay tuned!
